The 67^th Festival of Sport (FOS), an annual local mega-sports event organized by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) and subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), was officially launched today (5 April 2024). This year, with the theme "City in Motion, Share in Family Fun", FOS aims to promote "Sport for All" and encourage parent-child participation to cultivate a habit of regular exercise for physical and mental well-being.

SF&OC, in collaboration with various National Sports Associations (NSAs), will organize over 60 diverse sports activities across various districts in the community from April to August, including competitions, fun fairs, sports demonstrations, etc., bringing a variety of sports to members of the public at all ages. Among them, the three enhanced events are "Judo Fun Day", " Family Sports Games 2024" and "Sport for All Day". Sports enthusiasts, beginners, families and children can fully enjoy the fun of trying out sports of various types and levels.

The Opening Ceremony of the 67^th FOS cum Carnival took place at D·PARK. At the Ceremony, SF&OC appointed three athletes, YIU Kit Ching (Athletics), YAAP Hung Fai (Football) and TANG Yu Hin (Karate) as the 67^th FOS Ambassadors. The Ambassadors will join various FOS activities alongside the public and share their sports experiences.

Mr. Timothy FOK, President of SF&OC, said, "This year's FOS, under the theme 'City in Motion, Share in Family Fun', aims to inspire the public at all ages to get active through various sports activities. Parents and children can enjoy the pleasure of sports together, making sports a common topic for the family! As a new initiative, this year's FOS will also collaborate with LCSD on the 'Sport for All Day' on 4 August to enhance promotion synergies. We aim to encourage the public to explore and participate in various sports, fostering a long-term healthy and active lifestyle."

Following the Opening Ceremony, the Presentation Ceremony of SF&OC Incentive Awards & Junior Incentive Awards 2023 was held. Over HK$3.6 million was granted to NSAs in recognition of their contribution to sports development in the past year.
