“Sports for All Fun Day” Wraps Up with Great Success Sharing Joy of Sport with Community Fostering Stronger Sporting Culture
The first enhanced event of the 68th Festival of Sport (FOS), “Sports for All Fun Day”, was successfully held today (27 April 2025) at Kowloon Park Sports Centre. Featuring a variety of educational and entertaining sports-themed booths, the event drew enthusiastic participation from families and people of all ages, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The lively ambience was further lifted as this year’s FOS Ambassadors LEE Sze Wing (Cycling) and LEE Man Nga (Handball) joined in the fun to try out various sports. They encouraged the public to embrace an active lifestyle and enjoy quality family time through sports.
The Fun Day showcased 10 interactive sports trial booths set up by a number of National Sports Associations with professional coaches and athletes providing on-site guidance. Participants explored a wide array of sports through fun games and challenges, including kickboxing speed tests, fitness challenges, Olympic freestyle wrestling, rope courses, pétanque and bocce, curling, rope skipping, laser shooting (modern pentathlon) and line dance tutorials, discovering the joy of sport and enjoying the positive energy of exercising.
Organised by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) and subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the 68th FOS is themed “Let’s Get Moving Together and Enjoy Sports!”. It aims to promote sports for all, encourage regular exercise among the public, and foster family bonding and holistic wellness through sports. From April to August, over 50 sports activities will be organised across different districts in Hong Kong. These include competitions and fun days tailored to different age groups. The four enhanced events are “Sports for All Fun Day”, “Family Sports Game 2025”, “Hong Kong Shuttlecock Fun Day” and “Flying Disc Fun Day”, all free of charge for the public to enjoy.
As “Sports for All Fun Day” wrapped up with success, SF&OC looks forward to building on this momentum through FOS events to bring sports closer to everyday life and empower the community to move towards a healthier lifestyle.
