Citywide Activities Promote Widespread Participation in Sports as 68th Festival of Sport Concludes with Free Sports Experiences to Bring Community Together
The 68th Festival of Sport (FOS) wrapped up on a high note with its grand finale “Sport For All Experience Day” held on Sunday (3 August 2025) at GO PARK Sai Sha. Bringing four months of community sports celebrations to a close, the event featured a dynamic array of free sports experiences—ranging from football to kayak, lacrosse, padel, pickleball, stand-up paddleboard, running, and tennis. With professional coaches guiding the way, participants of all ages, including many families, embraced the opportunity to try out both popular and newly emerged sports in a fun, energetic atmosphere. The event fostered excitement, exploration, and a strong sense of community.
Beyond the sports experiences, the event featured a variety of interactive booths that added to the day’s excitement. To tie in with the “Sport For All Day (SFAD) 2025” held on the same day organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), a SFAD activity booth was set up to promote the fun of regular exercise. Another highlight was the themed booths presented by the National Games Coordination Office (Hong Kong) for the upcoming 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, and the 9th National Special Olympic Games. These booths featured interactive e-sports elements and special appearances by the official mascots, injecting a burst of energy to the venue and captivated visitors with creativity.
On the same day, the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) joined hands with LCSD to launch activities for “Sport For All Day 2025” at the Kowloon Park Sports Centre to promote wider sports participation in the community. SF&OC hosted a themed booth on FOS and the 15th National Games to boost public awareness of the competition events set to take place in Hong Kong. Visitors joined in lively games, claimed exclusive FOS souvenirs, and expressed their enthusiasm for this significant national sports event.
Organized by SF&OC and subvented by LCSD, the 68th Festival of Sport has sparked a wave of sporting energy across communities since its launch in April. In collaboration with various National Sports Associations (NSAs), over 60 diverse activities were rolled out across districts in Hong Kong—including competitions, sports demonstrations, family fun days, and trial sessions. The citywide initiative encouraged people of all ages to step outside, get active, and embrace a healthier lifestyle, while cultivating a deeper sports culture at the community level.
SF&OC would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to the Subvented Organization, LCSD; the Official Partners, FILA Marketing (Hong Kong) Limited; and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited, as well as to the supporting units, Sinopec (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. and Germagic Biochemical Technology (HK) Limited; for their generous support to the 68th FOS. SF&OC also thanks all participating NSAs and the enthusiastic public for making FOS a success and for embracing the spirit of “Let’s Get Moving Together and Enjoy Sports!” as we continue to work toward a vibrant sports culture in Hong Kong.
