64th Festival of Sport – Grassroot Football Festival Held Successfully
- The 64th FOS Grassroot Football Festival was held successfully today at Lok Fu Recreation Ground Artificial Turf Soccer Pitch with kids participated actively and joyfully in the event.
The 64th Festival of Sport (FOS), organized by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) and subvented by Leisure and Cultural Services Department, with the support from Hong Kong Football Association to co-organize the Grassroot Football Festival today (6 June). The event targeted for kids aged 12 or below to participate in football match trials and play different football related games to encourage the kids to develop a habit to exercise regularly and to promote “Sport for All”.

The Grassroot Football Festival was held successfully today at Lok Fu Recreation Ground Artificial Turf Soccer Pitch. There were football competition trials for kids of U6, U8, U10 & U12 and dribbling and shoot game areas. Teams of children aged 5 – 12 participated actively in the event under the leadership of professional coaches despite the hot weather. Parents also participated actively by cheering for their children.
FOS will have more exciting events coming in June and July, including the Rowing Carnival to be held in July to encourage the public to do more exercises together while welcoming the Tokyo Olympic to come in July. Mr. Tony YUE, Chairperson of the Festival of Sport Organizing Committee, attended the event to cheer for the kids. He also tried the shooting game.
