The 64th Festival of Sport (FOS), organized by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) and subvented by Leisure and Cultural Services Department, is an annual local mega sport event. In April to June this year, various activities were co-organized by National Sports Association (NSAs) under the theme “NEW OR NORMAL!” to encourage the public to stay active under the new normal. A series of new experiences were brought to the public to promote “Sport for All”. This year’s FOS also distributed around 20,000 “Move Together to Countdown to the Olympic Games – Advent Calendar” to Hong Kong students from 40 secondary and primary schools to encourage them to do more exercises while counting down to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Three FOS Ambassadors together with baseball / softball athletes visited a primary school to promote FOS and introduce the new Olympic sports (baseball / softball) to the students, distributed the FOS souvenirs and encouraged them to be active while welcoming the Olympic Games.

Distributed around 20,000 “Move Together to Countdown to the Olympic Games – Advent Calendar” to students from 40 schools

Three FOS Ambassadors LEE Ka Man, Yvette KONG and CHAN Ming Tai, together with Hong Kong Baseball athletes LAM Lai Him, FONG Man Hei and Hong Kong Softball athletes WONG Chok Hei, LAU Suet Man, KU Oi Yu, CHAN Ka Yi, visited Sharon Lutheran School today (24 June). The athletes introduced Olympic Games and the new Olympic sports in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games to the students during their Physical Education lesson. They also further introduced and demonstrated Baseball and Softball and let the students experienced the sports together. FOS souvenirs “Move Together to Countdown to the Olympic Games – Advent Calendar” was distributed to the students to encourage them to stay healthy by doing more exercises while welcoming the Olympic Games. The “Move Together to Countdown to the Olympic Games – Advent Calendar” combined online and offline elements. One Olympic sports and one fitness exercise will be shown after unveiling a date on the calendar. Participants may refer to the information of the sports and the details and demonstration of the fitness exercise on fos.hkolympic.org. Participants will get a chance to learn more about the Olympic sports while getting fit by following the fitness exercises day by day during the 30 days countdown to the Olympic Games. Public may join the upcoming online giveaway game on FOS Facebook page to win the “Move Together to Countdown to the Olympic Games – Advent Calendar” and other FOS souvenirs. Details of the online giveaway game will be announced via FOS Facebook page in due course.
